High Country Artisans' members Ellen Gerber and Bob Scoda recently presented a check to Union County Senior Center Director Kathy Hill. The donation is earmarked for an ongoing art program at the center.

Artist and volunteer painting instructor Ellen Gerber says, "The seniors love to express themselves through painting and drawing. It is a great way to reduce stress. This donation will buy necessary supplies to keep the art program going."

Besides the cash donation, High Country Artisan, Inc. also voted to donate space in the multi-member tent during the upcoming 2009 Butternut Creek Festival. Union County Senior Center artists will be displaying and selling both prints and note cards at this exciting juried event.

Paintings, note cards, knitted items, handmade kitchen towels, beaded jewelry, and other quality items are currently for sale at the center. All proceeds go directly to fund center activities.
